Ministry Information:
Faith Formation
Weekly classes are offered for students in Pre-K (4 years
old) through 12th grade. Children need to be registered before they can
attend class. Registration is Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 12
noon in the Faith Formation office. Please call the Faith Formation office for more
information.
Baptism Preparation
Baptism Preparation is offered for parents and godparents of children who
have not yet reached 7 years of age. Two classes are required prior to the
date of baptism. Classes are offered in English and Spanish on the first
and fourth Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Ministries Center.
For more details please READ the BAPTISM INFORMATION SHEET in English or Spanish
(requirements vary) depending in what language you will be celebrating the
baptism. Information sheets are in the back of Church.
First Communion, First Reconciliation, Confirmation
Preparation for First Communion, First Reconciliation and Confirmation is
done as a parish celebration:
- All Students in our parish community from grades 2 - 12, either attending
a Catholic School or attending a Public School but registered in St. John
Vianney's Faith Formation Program receive the sacramental preparation
together. All preparation processes are 2 years. Preparation is
offered in English and Spanish. Registration is through the Faith
Formation Office. Baptism certificate is required. Please call the
Faith Formation office for more information.
- Adult sacramental preparation for those baptized Catholic is also
available every year in English and Spanish.
RCIA
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process by which an
adult becomes a Catholic. RCIA is available in English and Spanish.
This process continues throughout the year with the exception of July.
Group meets Mondays, 7 p.m. in the Ministries Center. For more information
call Deacon Jim at the Parish Office ext. 228.
Rite of Christian Initiation is also available for children that are not
baptized and have reached the age of 7 years. Registration and parents
participation in the process is required. Please call the Faith Formation office for details.
