GIFTS OF APPRECIATED SECURITIES

Donating appreciated stock or bonds to St. John Vianney Parish could be more beneficial than giving a cash gift.

By donating securities held longer than one year, you can deduct their full fair market value regardless of what you originally paid for them.
 

Your total deduction is limited to 30% of your adjusted gross income in any year, but you can take any unused deduction over five succeeding years.
 

You pay no capital gains tax on the donated securities!  With these savings, the actual cost of your gift is less than if you had made a cash gift.

HOW DO I MAKE A DONATION OF STOCK/SECURITIES TO MY PARISH?
 
The safest and most efficient way to make a stock donation is by electronic transfer, between your broker and the Diocesan Broker.  The Diocese handles all our stock transactions.  In order that we might track the transaction, please notify us of what you have instructed your broker to do, this enables us to accurately record your donation for tax purposes.  For more detailed information, please call the parish office at 407-855-5391 and ask for Brenda at extension 229)
