Father Paul J. Henry was ordained in a class of  31 from All Hallows Seminary in Dublin, Ireland 36 years ago, along with his twin brother, Peter, and Fr. Richard Walsh.  He has spent his years of parish ministry serving in Daytona Beach, Brevard County and in Orlando at St. Mary Magdelen.  His career peaked with his assignment to St. John Vianney parish.  Fr. Paul also served as the principal of Melbourne Central Catholic High school for three years.  Regarding his training, Fr. Paul says he is educated enough to know better and holds graduate degrees from Stetson University and the University of Massachusetts.

Fr. Paul is proud to be from a large Irish family and is blessed to have his mother with him still, as she prepares to celebrate her 90th birthday this November.  His greatest ambition is to be a Catholic priest and with a very few stresses along the way, it has been a very wonderful life... so far.   Top of page

Father Tomás Hurtado - Father, ¿did you become a priest in Cuba? This is one of the most common questions people asked me, because in spite of the Island atheist system God has always been present in the hearts of he people; He cannot be erased from the mind and the heart of human beings.

I was born in a small town, in the old province of Las Villas, Cuba, to a Christian family, very much committed to the Church – thanks be to God. Since my early childhood I was involved in community affairs, but never thought of becoming a priest.

I graduated from high school, and at the age of 19, seeing the spiritual need of the people and the scarce number of ministers, I began to consider the possibility of becoming a priest. Went through mandatory military service, and after having attended the university for a year I cut my studies short to enter the “San Carlos and San Ambrosio” Seminary in Havana.

I finished my studies at the “Universidad Pontificia de México” and returned to Cuba hoping to work for my people. I was ordained a deacon and then a priest at the Diocese of Santa Clara, in Cuba. Three years later I decided to come to the United States because of the difficult political situation in Cuba.

I worked in the Archdiocese of Miami for a time, but being aware of the need for Hispanic priests in the Diocese of Orlando I asked Monsignor Wenski to be incorporated to it. My first assignment was at St. Catherine of Sienna Parish, in Kissimmee. Since September, 2006 I am serving the family of St. John Vianney and, by the grace of God. I do hope to be able to serve the people of God in Orlando joyfully and readily for the glory and honor of our God. May He bless you always!

Top of page

Fr. Rex Familar was born and raised in Baclayon, Bohol, The Philippines. He entered the Minor & College Seminary, Immaculate Heart of Mary, in 1983 where he earned his B.A in Philosophy. He then entered the Major Seminary, San Carlos, where he earned his B.A. in Theology,  and M.A. in Pastoral Theology.  He was ordained on April 16, 1993 by Bishop Leopoldo S. Tumulak D.D. Bishop of Tagbilaran.

His initial assignments were as Formation Director and Pastoral Coordinator of Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary from 1994 to 2000. He moved to the US in 2000 and was assigned to Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Camden New Jersey, then to St. Peter’s Church, followed by Federal Prison Institute as Chaplain until 2003.  He then became Parochial Vicar of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Orlando, Florida, and in August 2009, he was transferred to Parochial Vicar of St. John Vianney Parish.

Fr. Rex plays Tennis, loves Basketball, the sport he played as a youth and throughout his years in the seminary, and is a Boston Red Sox fan.  Although shy in the beginning, Fr. Rex loves to listen and to talk to people. He hopes to “continue living in the presence of God in my ministry here at St. John Vianney Parish.” Top of page

Mary Klemm - Called to the vocation of Youth Ministry, Mary says, "I love God to the best of my ability through youth ministry."  Mary Coignard Klemm was born in Orlando, Florida, and has been involved in St. John Vianney Parish Ministries since 8 years old when she joined the children's choir.  She attended St. John Vianney Catholic School and Bishop Moore Catholic High School.   Mary participated as a youth in St. John's youth ministry during high school, volunteered as a peer minister in college, and volunteered on the youth ministry adult team for 5 years.  In 1999, she was hired as Youth Minister at St. John Vianney.  She is continuing her professional formation in youth ministry through the Diocese of Orlando catechist certification programs and the Center for Ministry Development – Youth Ministry certification program.  Mary is married to her youth ministry sweetheart Eddie Klemm and has 2 children.  Top of page

Isabel Villamil-González joined the staff at St. John Vianney in July, 2004.  Her diversified background enhances her ability to minister in our midst.  Prior to joining us she was the Director of Faith Formation at our neighboring parish in Kissimmee for four and a half years.  She was also a teacher for over nineteen years, principal of catholic schools for nine and a member of a religious community for thirty two years.  She holds Master degrees from Villanova University and University of Dayton.  Miss Villamil-González is grateful to God for leading her to a ministry where she draws closer to Him and His Church more and more each day.  With Mary our Mother, she says:  “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my savior.  For He who is mighty has done great things for me and holy is His name.”  Top of page
